A Week In Lewiston

Henry and Heather were going away for a week... so I was asked to stay with the kids!
Tried to keep them occupied -- wasn't too hard since there was school, building to work at, and the neighbors constantly asking for them to come play...
Here are some of the pics

Picnic on the Island
 so cute

Nate got tired and his eyes got sore....

 waiting patiently for the sandwiches

These pictures will always bring a smile to my face. Julia wanted to show us all "Defense 1-4"... Nathan had to practice
Using an orange as a ball -- left the real one in the van
getting organized for a sort of tag...

The question of every evening "Rach, can I sleep in your room tonight?"
Cake Time
Lyd asked me to bring cake stuff so we could make one together... worked with gumpaste, fondant, etc..
 Kneading, Dyeing. Rolling, Shaping...
 Making the batter
 Explaining
 Our Ombre

Nathan was being naughty (this was a posed pic)
School Time
So proud of Lydia -- she found a couple of mistakes in the teacher's key!
Nathan listening to my iPod while I was attempting to help the girls with their Algebra

 A pleading look
Had to throw this one in

Whitebird - Lewiston, NY
Extra work around the building and lots of little hands to do it!

Nathan was supposed to stay in the lunch room - but Mr. Doug allowed him to come out and sort nails.. not sure which one he preferred:(

The Pioneer Table
Guitar -- or not!
In between the rush of "Rach, I need a bathing suite tomorrow" "Can the boys come to the building" "We need to get groceries" There was a guitar lesson that I didn't know about.
It was one of those days where it was a quick lunch then somehow the dishwasher gets loaded, but not started, rush out the door... only to come back a few hours realizing there were people walking through the house and a man waiting for the children to return for their lesson... all this to say! Mr. Bob came back that night and everything was fine - lesson postponed - however I had to say yes to a ping-pong game and made these smoothies.
 Smoothy time w/ Bob

Yes, one night we cheated and went to Wendy's - nice break!

I had done Julia's hair that morning to match her red and white shirt she told me she was going to wear -- next thing I knew she put on this pink one - still incredibly cute!
Got into this routine - 30 sit-ups every morning for the girls! Good laughs - sore stomachs!

Was a great experience and so thankful Henry and Heather were able to get away for a time... Was also a really good week for me to refocus on life. You know sometimes you get into this seemingly mundane everyday... Believe it or not made extra time to really seek the Lord this week and was really blessed in Him. So thankful for every day He has given me and praying I use every day ahead of me for His glory... walking in His truth as His plan unfolds before me.

Many new opportunities, many ups and downs, but through it all - there is so much to learn, and hopefully in the process He's making us into stronger people, becoming more and more like Him! December was filled with lots of different Christmas happenings, get together's, music opportunities, visitations, baking, eating of yummy food, and spending time with family!  I maybe took 3 or 4 pictures - not much to show, but will be bringing more pictures of the upcoming months!  New Years - I was sick again, so I was home alone, while everyone went else where to ring in the New Year! A good time to reflect on the happenings, excitement, disappointments, blessings, and most of all His faithfulness! A lot to remember, be thankful for, but 2013 is past, and although it brought much joy and some of the happiest most fulfilled moments, times - this is 2014 and I'm excited to see what He w

I Am Your Shield

This is a song that has been a great encouragement to me and so I wanted to share it with all of you, hoping that it will minister to you and encourage you on... even during the dark times! May He give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of those secret places!  I Am Your Shield Rachel Wissman My child are you discouraged  By the sorrows of the day Does it seem like life is crumbing The skies have turned to grey Don’t forget I gave you promises to guide you every hour In the moment of your heartbreak Let me show you my great power   And I will be your shield When the battle rages on And I will be your light when the way ahead is dark I will be your strong tower And guide you every hour Just place your life completely in my hand I know it won’t be easy I never said it would But my grace will always be there My plans for you are good Remember that your weaknesses are perfect in my sight Only when you yield them to me can I turn
