Wedding Preparations

Now that life is back to "normal" and getting adjusting to the pace of life... I realized I was terribly behind in my blogging:( One of the first things to go when life get's busy. I have to admit that I didn't take too many photo's but there are some moments that I would love to share with you all!
My dear sister wrote and recorded a song for her wedding (a song to dad and Chris). I was so honored to be able to go with her to the studio and help with the mixing, etc - was fun and brought back a ton of memories! This song was played as dad gave Jenelle to Chris - "Take This Moment" was definitely a highlight of the ceremony!
Some of the dessert for the wedding - the requested "Pumpkin Crunch Cheesecake"
Doing a trial make-up... yes outside, and of course the day before the wedding!! Thankful for these fun moments we were able to have during the business of it all!
The bride getting her nails done
We all (the bridal party, mothers, and grandmothers) went to the nail salon and had such a special fun time together - many laughs!
Afterwards all the girls went to Cora's to spend some time with Jenelle in her final hours of being a Bachlorette:) didn't get any pictures, but so thankful for that time we had together!
We all went to the church and started setting up - so thankful we got it a day early and were able to do the majority of the setting up early! Had a lot of good willing helpers - SO incredibly thankful for each and every one of them!
My dear Grandmother was one of those angels - Grandpa had just had a minor stroke the morning before and although there was still a lot of concern, she wanted to be there to help!
Nelly working on Jenelle's bouquet and a big floral arrangement- both were beautiful! Thanks Nell!
So maybe we got a little carried away, but it was a wedding and it was fun:) I promise we ONLY did it in the ladies washrooms:)
The guys reaction...
Mark - so thankful for this guy who kept me smiling through the stressful times!
The beautiful girls who did it:) There were some others as well I think that helped out!
My cousin (Brad Schmuck) owns the Schmuck Truck and normally stays on the streets in Kitchener...
however we were able to snag him for the rehearsal dinner - went over so well, and was so yummy!!! Thanks Brad for coming out and being willing to feed us!
The girls helping Nelly add greenery to the girls bouquets the morning of the wedding
Our family friend - hairdresser - came out the morning of and did our hair - was fun to have her there!
Her mom came with her to help prep our hair!
You can't really see it, but in the background (and in mom's hand) there is a HUGE spread that Sarah H. put together for the girls! She did such a wonderful job - the WHOLE day! She was the day of coordinator and with everything going on that weekend, somehow managed to find some time to come and spend the day with us! SO thankful for you Sarah - you're such a blessing - love ya!
The last father-daughter walk as a single girl... so special!
Thankful for this shot - me with a very special lady - thanks dear friend for all you did to make this day special - all the stationary, your expertise in photography, helping clean up afterwards, and for being there!
The little cutie that followed me around all evening... he wanted to share his tie.

Like I said I don't have too many photo's but this was such an exciting time in our lives... a lot of firsts for all of us, but we are so incredibly thankful for everyone that pitched in so willingly and gave of themselves to make Jenelle and Chris' day so very special!
Will share more photos with you all when I get them from our amazing photographer:)

I Am Your Shield

This is a song that has been a great encouragement to me and so I wanted to share it with all of you, hoping that it will minister to you and encourage you on... even during the dark times! May He give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of those secret places!  I Am Your Shield Rachel Wissman My child are you discouraged  By the sorrows of the day Does it seem like life is crumbing The skies have turned to grey Don’t forget I gave you promises to guide you every hour In the moment of your heartbreak Let me show you my great power   And I will be your shield When the battle rages on And I will be your light when the way ahead is dark I will be your strong tower And guide you every hour Just place your life completely in my hand I know it won’t be easy I never said it would But my grace will always be there My plans for you are good Remember that your weaknesses are perfect in my sight Only when you yield them to ...

Lewiston, NY

Had been way to long since I had visited my friends in Lewiston and with a few days off I had to take the time!  They are all growing up so fast, in a way I feel as though I've missed a big chunk of their lives, however I can't be everywhere I'd like all the time - learning to enjoy the moments we do get!  The handsome little man  We ventured on a get-away to Toronto for a few days- stayed in a lovely hotel and had lots of fun together!  Then visited the Peoples Church on Sunday - was really neat to see Charles Price face-to-face and hear him speak. Not quite what I was expecting in the church building, but neat experience!  Walking along the lakeshore with some beauts!  Montana's serves the best stake for a nice price! Love these girls and love who they are becoming! It's always a treat to spend some time alone with them! Love you all!  And yes!! Finally got to meet the two newest additions to the Heikoop Fami...

Christmas 2015

Sadly I didn't really get too many decent pictures of Christmas day!  Jenelle and I made our traditional Christmas brunch: Christmas Wreath (a sweet bread), quiche, and fruit salad! We headed over to Aunt Mary-Beth's and Uncle Rons for Christmas Lupper with Derek - it was really special to spend this time with them! AMB and I had a really great chat - always super grateful for her and the advice she so quietly, or not so quietly gives! Whatever I need to hear! SO thankful to have her in my life! We came back home and skyped the family! Was lovely seeing all their faces! Glad we didn't know till after the face we were on the big screen! Being in this third world country over Christmas was definitely different! Made me think again how much we have and how much we take for granted! Whether its our family or the material possesions we have, or the truths that have been passed down either from our parents or through God's word. All of these things I take f...
