12 Days of Christmas - Mexico

December 19th, 2014 began our 12 days of Christmas trip!

On one of our layovers - I got super cheap tickets, but that meant a few layovers! I didn't mind too much...
First day there we travelled to a town a ways away where they sold a lot of wool products - neat to experience. This town was definitely not so well off.
Missing the kitchen - Manny pulled 5 ingredients out of the cupboard and fridge and we made these cookies!
At the mall overlooking part of the city!
Suppose it became Lyd and my thing to take a picture with every character we saw!
On a walk by a lake! Pretty & Chilly
"Going down town, spreading good cheer"
 In Taxco - "Cheers"
In the mine - our tour guide was incredibly cute! Was about 8 years old, but don't mess with him - He know's his stuff!
 King-Kong - Was a big smelly costume:)
 Another restaurant overlooking Taxco
Manny and I being goofs - you can't see from this pic, but this was on a super busy road with a lot of bends and curves!
Christmas Eve - was neat to experience their culture
 The Christmas Tree
Mumma Nora and Papa Luis - the dear folks that welcomed us with open arms and warm hearts!
 All of us before dinner!
We ate Christmas dinner at 11pm - tradition for them!
We wanted to say Merry Christmas in a special way - here are a few of the "out-takes"!

Any guesses which letter this was to be!?
"Merry Christmas" all the way from Mexico
One of the many adventures in the evening - this was "Water-Pong"!
 Buying souvenirs at the Pyramids
It was crazy busy and so nice and warm!

At the top - beautiful scenery and a great place to reflect

I like us! Me with some incredible kiddos who have become like brother and sister to me!
 In Xochimial on the river

So this was our trip in a nutshell - here we are again at our favorite airport - Texas, US
It was a great trip - thankful for so much: the open doors, the relationships, the experiences, the food:), the great weather....I could go on!
Mexico was on my bucketlist of places I wanted to see - so now I get to cross that off! Now it's time to get back to real life and I'm so ready for it! It's great to get away from normal, but it's so good to get back to it!
Hope you all had a great Christmas and so excited to see what 2015 holds for each and everyone of you!
Cheers from me to you! Happy 2015

I Am Your Shield

This is a song that has been a great encouragement to me and so I wanted to share it with all of you, hoping that it will minister to you and encourage you on... even during the dark times! May He give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of those secret places!  I Am Your Shield Rachel Wissman My child are you discouraged  By the sorrows of the day Does it seem like life is crumbing The skies have turned to grey Don’t forget I gave you promises to guide you every hour In the moment of your heartbreak Let me show you my great power   And I will be your shield When the battle rages on And I will be your light when the way ahead is dark I will be your strong tower And guide you every hour Just place your life completely in my hand I know it won’t be easy I never said it would But my grace will always be there My plans for you are good Remember that your weaknesses are perfect in my sight Only when you yield them to ...

New Postings Coming

Dear Followers, I apologize for not writing on the happenings in the last few months! Many new opportunities, many ups and downs, but through it all - there is so much to learn, and hopefully in the process He's making us into stronger people, becoming more and more like Him! December was filled with lots of different Christmas happenings, get together's, music opportunities, visitations, baking, eating of yummy food, and spending time with family!  I maybe took 3 or 4 pictures - not much to show, but will be bringing more pictures of the upcoming months!  New Years - I was sick again, so I was home alone, while everyone went else where to ring in the New Year! A good time to reflect on the happenings, excitement, disappointments, blessings, and most of all His faithfulness! A lot to remember, be thankful for, but 2013 is past, and although it brought much joy and some of the happiest most fulfilled moments, times - this is 2014 and I'm excited to see what He w...

New York City

This past April Wilma was doing a Prospective Student Day in Philadelphia, so we took our time getting there and did some really neat walks!   Glen Watkins - St. Park They were grooming the trails at this state park so we weren't able to walk around here, but went a bit East to another state park where we walked for 14km and saw a ton of falls and enjoyed the beautiful spring air! One of my favorite falls - reminded me of a cupcake!  To get a great picture we had to cross this chilly creek  View from the top  We spent the night in the suburbs of Philadelphia in gorgeous German Town where we enjoyed a very unique hotel and a walk down the cobblestone roads! I wish we could have spent more time there!  This is us the next morning before class started  Wilma was checking this school out prospectively for her Masters in Counselling - was a beautiful facilities and all the staff was very accommodating! ...
