I will be Mrs. Tallman ...background story!

Our story began August 20th, 2017 when through a fluke we got paired up to work a 12 hour shift together. Benjamin proved to be an incredible listener and super easy to talk to. This one shift turned into many more as Ben went to the supervisor (unbeknownst to me) requesting the same schedule. These shifts proved to be a highlight in my week and I couldn't wait to get on the truck every other Sunday with Benjamin. I cannot tell you when we started dating, but our first time meeting up to study (outside of work) was October 12th after school in a Starbucks in Grimsby, ON. Benjamin was a once in a lifetime friend and I was growing to admire and respect the man I saw in him. Finally, our school semester was over and we were able to spend a bit more time together and getting to know each others families. He fit into my family so well from day one. My siblings adored him as he took time to listen to them and be interested in their lives! Christmas together was amazing...and then it was back to school for both of us. Benjamin was entering his last semester at Niagara College and I was starting second year! We spent as much time together as possible, studying, running through scenarios, and hiking the trails! Benjamin graduated with honours in April and we went to a show in London together to celebrate. This began his stent of hard core studying for his A-EMCA. Throughout the winter and spring we had been talking about our future together and what that would look like. We talked about where we wanted to go and how we didn't want to spend it apart. On July 27th, 2018 Benjamin brought me to the chair in the living room and sat me down. He pulled out the most beautiful ring and asked me if I would be his wife.
We are terrible with dates. We have no idea when we officially started dating. We have no idea when we officially got engaged (unless you count when I got the ring). However, we do hope we will have a date SOON as to the wedding!
There is nothing about our story that I would change. There is nothing that I would have wanted to see play out differently. Even though both Ben and I had said we wouldn't start a relationship till we were done school - it couldn't have happened at a better time. Somethings...just happen. They happen for a reason, WHEN they're supposed to happen! Don't ever rush anything. Life isn't a race. We found each other when we weren't looking and it turned out to be the best thing that has ever happened to either of us!
All of our stories are different!
What's yours?

I Am Your Shield

This is a song that has been a great encouragement to me and so I wanted to share it with all of you, hoping that it will minister to you and encourage you on... even during the dark times! May He give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of those secret places!  I Am Your Shield Rachel Wissman My child are you discouraged  By the sorrows of the day Does it seem like life is crumbing The skies have turned to grey Don’t forget I gave you promises to guide you every hour In the moment of your heartbreak Let me show you my great power   And I will be your shield When the battle rages on And I will be your light when the way ahead is dark I will be your strong tower And guide you every hour Just place your life completely in my hand I know it won’t be easy I never said it would But my grace will always be there My plans for you are good Remember that your weaknesses are perfect in my sight Only when you yield them to ...

Lewiston, NY

Had been way to long since I had visited my friends in Lewiston and with a few days off I had to take the time!  They are all growing up so fast, in a way I feel as though I've missed a big chunk of their lives, however I can't be everywhere I'd like all the time - learning to enjoy the moments we do get!  The handsome little man  We ventured on a get-away to Toronto for a few days- stayed in a lovely hotel and had lots of fun together!  Then visited the Peoples Church on Sunday - was really neat to see Charles Price face-to-face and hear him speak. Not quite what I was expecting in the church building, but neat experience!  Walking along the lakeshore with some beauts!  Montana's serves the best stake for a nice price! Love these girls and love who they are becoming! It's always a treat to spend some time alone with them! Love you all!  And yes!! Finally got to meet the two newest additions to the Heikoop Fami...

Mt. Pleasant Biking Trail

I hadn't spent too much time with my younger siblings in awhile - wanted to do something fun with them. Original plan was to go canoeing, but the weather didn't look too promising so Mark and I decided that a bike ride might be a better option! Mark getting the bikes all fixed up - handy man:) Tried to get a picture of the group, but Manny decided to get in front... Some of the group - was thankful Mark came along - really helped keep everyone together and led the group much better than I ever would have been able to! It's just easier to keep 7 kids with another adult... plus it was nice to be able to spend the time with him!  Stopped for a picnic and got a birds eye view such a great shot! Was a great day and the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves - we went back to the Windmill and they had a great time playing hide and seek!  Then it was rush home for me for a dress fitting then off to look after my cousins little girls! Will be spendin...
