Beginning of a Journey

Just a little introduction to the many blog posts that follow:
It is my reasoning that those of you who would like to know a little (or a lot) of what happened and the things I was able to experience on my trip to South Africa/Swaziland will read my ramblings. 
The rest of you... well hope you will at least look at some of the pictures, and if you're even THINKING of making a trip and just keep putting it off - STOP RIGHT NOW!
If you have the time/money/means DO IT RIGHT NOW!
YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT

On December 14th at 8:30pm James and I boarded a plane for Munich, Germany!
I was really looking forward to touring the city just a little...ok maybe more than a little, but travelling for 10 hours has its toll on you

The only map I had to make sure we didn't get lost - should have stopped at information, but a guy on the bus to the city filled me in on all the important stuff in Munchen.

You always hear how expensive Europe is, but to truly understand it you must go!

Loved the history jam packed in this incredibly HUMONGOUS and beautiful city.
One thing that I didn't like was everywhere you walked it smelled like cigars! People smoke there like they drink coffee here! I smelled terrible getting back to the airport, but at least I was just travelling with my brother!
Nothing to traditionally German, but it hit the spot.
Side Note: Their coffee is AMAZING (to die for). It better have it cost me $5 for a regular coffee!

Christmas Preparations & Finishing up Second Semester

2017 seemed to be a year full of new adventures and "firsts"! I hadn't been home for all the hustle and bustle of Christmas for 5 years and boy did I ever miss it! Starbucks and studying for finals filled my December Experiencing and practicing out skills out in the "field" - preparing us for our final practical Something I've really missed doing - hanging the Christmas lights out at the farm! This year Ben helped James and I - a great night filled with music, laughter, and cookies (thanks Jo-Jo)  "Festival of Lights" - OWEN SOUND  It was a very wet/rainy night, but it was PERFECT! Ben and I had so much fun walking around Owen Sound talking, laughing, and experiencing the beginning of many new Christmas things together! The firework display was incredible, just in case anyone is thinking of checking it out next year - GO!!! They also did a great job at displaying many different set ups of Christmas lights!  Oh, and what better ...

(Parts of) Family Day

Family Day was different this year then others - it had become an annual tradition to go hiking, however due to some conflicting plans it didn't work out this year! Some went here, others there, yet we were all together for dinner!  I took Faith and the two youngest boys swimming - there was hardly anyone there, the boys so enjoyed it!  Game time  Music Time  Grandma wanted help cutting out her runner...  At 10pm I got inspired to do a cake - I had a gracious helper:) My Dad's project for the day! It's so nice - getting all these projects done around here!

2017 Re-Cap

2017 was an incredible year filled with MANY changes and experiences I never imagined would befall this little country 'gal. January - Started off with by returning to school (full-time) . In pursuit of me following my life long dream of becoming a Paramedic I needed to take Biology, Chemistry, and Math credits as it had been 6+ years since I last took any of the sciences. The Pre-Health  program at Conestoga seemed to be the best option, as I wanted to get my accreditation for  Paramedicine   at Conestoga College. Returning to school was quite the adjustment as I had not been in full time school for 6+ years, but it quickly grew on me as I got to know my colleagues and schedule. It took me awhile to re-teach myself how to study... it's different as an adult! February - Within the first week I found out that as a mature student, using my grades from the "Pre-Health" program (instead of my highschool transcript) they would NOT even look at my application for Param...
